Piano Tuning Classes: conducted by Leonard

That's right folks! If you don't want to spend that $60-120 every few months in tuning your piano, whether you're a professional pianist, a hobbyist or even a serious piano techie wannabe, you can now learn how to tune your own piano, AND get job referrals after succesful course completion! Leonard, being one of the very few in this region and the only Japanese certified technician who can tune perfectly by ear, will teach you how to tune your own piano over a period of time subjective to your own progress.

Leonard charges $60 per lesson, with an unlimited duration of time. The first few lessons go from manipulating the tuning hammer to tune each string to one another to simple action repairs, then going slowly in depth to the specifics as you progress, like setting the temparement, action disassembly and reassembly, regulation and voicing. Every lesson will end when you have satisfied it's objectives.

We also offer the complete course in upright/grand piano repair, servicing, and tuning. This is for parties interested in becoming a part/full time piano technician. References for jobs at the Yamaha Technical Service academy will also be made. You can be guaranteed at least 7 piano tunings in a week!

Highly popular back in Sydney, our friendly, funny, witty and of course, experienced pianist/conductor and consultant Amery is dishing out his expertise to students of all ages and walks of life.

When it comes to teaching, Amery begs to differ from the local market of big music school chains, where they are notorious for their inflexibility with their teaching processes. Whether you're a professional pianist seeking to expand on your repertoire and technique, a hobbyist or a serious pianist wannabe, music lessons will never be the same again after you have experienced teaching the Amery way.

A particular forte of Amery is his ability to improvise by ear and by score that has earned him many accolades with his various piano transcriptions, of which he will gladly let you in on his secrets through improvisation lessons.

Current teaching rates and courses offered:

• Singing and Pop Improvisation on the piano, all levels (each lesson lasting up to 1.5 hours)
• $100 for kids below 13, for every 4 lessons
• $200 for adults above 13, for every 4 lessons

Rates for classical piano/singing (London based exams):

• Beginners(ABRSM Grade 1-3) $200 every 4 sessions, each lesson lasting up to 1.5hrs, inclusive of Music Theory.
• Intermediate(ABRSM Grade 4-6) $220 every 4 sessions, each lesson lasting up to 1.5 HOURS, inclusive of Music Theory
• Advanced(ABRSM Grade 7-8) $250 every 4 sessions, each lessons lasting up to 1.5 hours

Do inquire if you wish to take the diploma certificate, as there are many different available versions of the diploma that Amery can guide you through, namely the Associated Board Royal Schools of music, Trinity College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Yamaha Academy, etc.

The diplomas are offered at Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship level for both piano and voice.
